The fans that are used on graphics cards usually do not follow industry standards, but are specially developed and optimized for use on the respective GPU - which makes use of standardized components such as be quiet! fans very difficult.

If your motherboard does not have an ARGB connector, there is a so-called ARGB converter available from several manufacturers that takes care of this task.

Almost all products of the be quiet! brand are granted a warranty period that far exceeds the statutory minimum period for manufacturer’s warranty claims.

In most cases the manufacturer’s warranty is valid for 3-5 years from the purchase date.

To qualify for be quiet! manufacturer’s warranty services two conditions must be met:

1. You must be the original retail customer who purchased the product
2. You must possess an invoice for the device you wish to make a claim for

If you cannot fulfill these criteria then unfortunately you have no right to claim under manufacturer’s warranty.

If you acquired the device from an online dealer, in many cases you are able to retrieve an invoice directly by logging onto your customer account, alternatively you can request it from your dealer.

If it proves impossible for you to obtain an invoice for the device, in certain cases we may grant you a special “accommodating procedure” given the serial number (such a procedure is generally excluded for devices in the case fans and CPU air coolers product groups).

In such cases the decision is made at our discretion, from which no general right to warranty may be construed.

This behavior occurs when a protective circuit in the power supply is triggered. It could be prompted by a short circuit or fault current in the system, for example.
If you purchased a power supply with modular cable management, use of the wrong cable is frequently responsible this behavior. To eliminate the possibility that the problem is caused by external interference, we recommend you first disconnect all peripheral devices that are not directly needed to start the computer (printer, display, keyboard, etc.) and detach connectors for components (HDD, SSD, graphics card, USB panel on the PC case etc.) from the motherboard.
The only components that remain connected to the motherboard should be the main 24-pole ATX connector or EPS 12V CPU P4 (P8), the CPU, and one main memory bank. If the computer now starts it may be determined, by a subsequent process of elimination, which component is causing the non-starting.

If you have the possibility, we advise you to test the power supply in an alternative system.
For this connect the power supply using the main 24-pole ATX connector or the EPS 12V CPU P4(P8) to another motherboard.

This behavior may result from a variety of causes.
Sporadic system crashes can be caused by faulty hardware or by faulty software.

In our experience the most common cause for this problem is badly setup overclocking.
Try loading the “default settings” in your BIOS, save these and check whether the system now runs without crashes.
This measure may also prove successful when you do not use overclocking.

When crashes are related to an overheating power supply, they are usually caused by tripping the over temperature protection (OTP).
Ensure a gap of at least 20cm exists between the rear of the computer and the nearest obstruction (wall, desk, etc.).
Lacking a sufficient gap, the warm air from the case is unable to escape properly and this can lead to a build-up of heat.

The fan on a power supply is largely responsible for preventing a build-up of heat in the power supply.
All of our PSUs are active power supplies. That means that the PSU fan spins all the time. Check whether the fan of your be quiet! power supply is running.
If the fan is not turning, sometimes it helps to prod the blades of a stuck fan (use a pencil or similar, not your finger).

If the fan refuses to budge, it can point to a fault in the internal fan regulator of the power supply.
In this case then please get in touch with our Service staff.

The cable is probably not faulty. It is important to realize that although the cables offered in stores as our accessories are compatible with all the latest be quiet! power supplies, this does not apply to older PSUs.
The be quiet! S-ATA & multi-cables currently offered are compatible with the following series:
be quiet! Pure Power L8 and newer
be quiet! Straight Power E9 and newer
be quiet! Dark Power Pro P8 and newer
be quiet! Power Zone Z1 and newer
Note: the higher the series number, the newer it is.

In some cases the connectors of the latest cables will also fit in older series than those listed, but the assignment of pins is now different from older PSUs.
Plugging in such a mismatching cable would likely trip the short circuit protection (SCP) of the power supply, preventing any PSU output voltage.

Yes, that is completely normal.
When high-powered PSUs are switched on they generate an inrush of current, which can amount to several times the nominal rating of the device.

Such an excessive surge of current will sometimes result in tripping the electrical circuit-breaker that protects the part of the building’s wiring your computer is plugged into.
In order to prevent the possibility of this happening, we built  inrush-current limiter into our PSUs. The “click” you can hear is the inrush-current limiter activating at start up – and deactivating at shutdown.

Please do not connect the fans directly to the PSU!

Enclosed in the packaging of your power supply you will find a suitable cable to connect the fan to the PSU.
This cable has a 2-pin plug at one end, which is connected to the PSU. At the other end it has a 3-pin fan connector and an HDD (Molex) connection in order to connect one corresponding fan.

You do not need to worry there, this is a completely normal behavior. If you turn off the power supply fully, capacitors & coils discharge completely. If you then turn the power supply back on after a while, these components are loaded with the inrush current, which leads to wear of the materials in the long run. For this reason, we have set the power supply to a 5V standby voltage, even if the toggle switch is set to 0, which ensures the longevity of the power supply.

A separate mesh front is available for the Silent Base 801. In some cases, the mesh front of the Pure Base 500DX can also be used on the Pure Base 500 – please contact our support (service@bequiet.com) to find out whether your Pure Base 500 case is compatible. Other separate mesh inserts are currently not available.

After you have connected all components correctly, hold down the LED color switch button on the I/O panel of the case for about five seconds, which synchronizes all components. However, this is not possible with all cases!

For the vertical installation of a graphics card, a so-called riser cable is necessary to connect the card to the motherboard. As be quiet! does not produce no such cables, they are not directly available from us - but should be available from selected PC hardware dealers.

The SSD is mounted on the outside of the frame, not the inside! We have prepared a helpful video explaining the mounting.

Unfortunately, this problem mainly arises from an oversight in the manual.
The PCB (fan controller) also needs to be supplied with power. To do this connect the circuit board to the PSU with one of the unused S-ATA connectors.

We recommend our Dark Rock Pro TR4 cooler which can only be used with AMD’s TR4 socket. Additionally we’re offering mounting kits for our Silent Loop 2 models, which can be bought at our partner stores.

We’ve compiled all of the measurement data for each cooler in a dedicated document which you can find in the respective downloads area on our website.

We’ve created the motherboard check tool on our website specifically to answer this question. In case you can’t find your model you can also always contact us, and we will try to check your compatibility manually.

We check compatibility to new Intel and AMD sockets on a regular basis. If new mounting kits become available we will communicate so to the specialized press and through our website as well as our social media channels.

Unfortunately no be quiet! cooler can be used with an LGA 2011(-3) Narrow ILM socket.

The gain in performance would peak at about an additional 0.5°C while increasing the volume of the cooler. So it’s not recommended.

Mainboards by these (and other OEM) manufacturers often deviate from Intel and AMD specifications, which means that be quiet! air and water cooling systems generally can’t be used with ready-made systems. Even when mounting them works fine it’s still possible that connectors for fans or the AIO pump have been changed so that they can’t be used.

Older be quiet! coolers can often be mounted in a top/down orientation which is most useful when the warm air is being blown out through the top cover. We offer optional mounting kits the the Pure Rock, the Shadow Rock Slim and the Dark Rock 3 air coolers so that they can be mounted into the airflow of the case, too. You can order this kit by contacting our customer service – just drop us a quick message here.

The Shadow Rock 2 is an exception as its square design allows for a free orientation of the mounted fan – top/down or into the airflow.

Some mainboards present this error when the fan speed is too low. You can usually fix this by manually increasing the minimum rotation speed or by deactivating the error message in the BIOS.

You will achieve the best cooling performance by installing your TopFlow cooler so that the heat pipes point to the direction of the USB connectors or the RAM banks.

The following be quiet! air coolers are compatible to unusually tall RAM modules due to their high clearance and/or asymmetrical design: „Dark Rock Slim“, „Shadow Rock 3“ and „Pure Rock Slim 2“.

The specific differences between our fan series are explained here. In general, however, the fans of the "Shadow Wings 2" series are our quietest models.

If you intend to replace our enclosed fan with another model, the long clips can be used for this. They are designed for fans with a diameter of 120mm and a thickness of 25mm.

With all our non-TF fans, the installation of another fan is possible. The "Dark Rock 4" model requires additional anti-vibration rails, which are available through our support (service@bequiet.com).

Socket 1200 is physically identical to socket 115X, so no special mounting kit is required for it. The existing mounting kit for the 115X mounting can also be used directly for socket 1200.

The baseplates of most of our air coolers are made of nickel-plated copper and can be used with liquid metal as a replacement for the thermal grease - but this does not apply to the Shadow Rock 3, Pure Rock Slim 2 and Pure Rock 2 models! In any case, you have to be very careful when applying, because nothing from the liquid metal must get on the motherboard!

If you want to control the fans via the PWM signal, you must connect the fan controller to a PWM-capable header (4-pin) on your motherboard. Then you need to set the switch on the front panel to "Auto". Once you have done that, you must set the selected fan header (which you connected to your fan controller) to PWM mode in the BIOS. Save and restart.

That information was not entirely true.

As the 135mm Silent Wings fan of the Dark Rock Pro 3 has a 6-pole motor, its RPM would in fact display about 50% higher than it actually runs, but in most cases the speed of the 135mm Silent Wings in the Dark Rock Pro 3 is not passed to the motherboard.

Dark Rock Pro 3 is delivered with two different, but perfectly synchronized fans. One of these is the 6-pole 135mm Silent Wings mentioned above, and the other is a 4-pole 120mm Silent Wings fan. Both these fans are connected by a single Y-cable to the fan controller on the motherboard. From the Y-cable only one fan speed is determined: the correct RPM of the 120mm Silent Wings fan.

Mainboard can only process one RPM signal per fan connection. It will cause problems when both fans transmit their speeds.

Unfortunately, with the current mounting kit for Dark Rock 3you can only mount it with top-down orientation. This orientation is particularly useful when the warm air is blown out through the top cover of the case. We are presently working on alternative mounting bridges for the cooler, which will permit installation of the cooler turned through 90°.

The cooler mounting allows a slight rotation on the CPU, which means you can turn it by hand. This is intentional and has no negative effect on the cooling performance. That being said, the cooler is not allowed to tilt! This indicates a faulty installation or maybe a problem with the mounting kit. Please double-check the correct installation – if the cooler still seems wobbly please contact our customer support.

You probably own an older model of the Pure Rock. We’ve changed its mounting kit in 2018 so that it can be installed into the airflow. You can order a new mounting kit by contacting our customer support.

The net positive temperature gain is only minimal.

Generally, when the pump emits a rattling noise, it is not necessarily faulty. It usually indicates a small air bubble has become trapped between the impeller and the casing of the pump. Due to this entrapment the impeller of the pump begins to vibrate, which can sounds like it is clattering.
In most cases it is fairly easy to solve this problem:

Dismount the pump unit from the motherboard. Then hold the pump in your hand in such a way that both connecting tubes face upwards.

Now shake the pump for about 20 to 30 seconds with a vibrating movement.
While you are doing this, make sure that the radiator is vertically above the pump.
This procedure should succeed in shifting the air bubble to the radiator.
When you have reinstalled the pump unit, you should no longer hear any unusual noises coming from the pump.

To function properly Silent Loop should be at least 90% full of liquid. Even when 90% full, it is possible to hear and feel the movement of coolant when you move the radiator around. This should neither impair its function nor cause any background noise.

You are welcome to top up the Silent Loop with a suitable coolant, such as that made by Alphacool.
Never top up your Silent Loop with water from the tap. Distilled water is also rarely suitable for topping up purposes.

Unfortunately, on very rare occasions it can happen that coolant leaks from a Silent Loop due to a mechanical defect.
As the coolant liquid is not electrically conductive, any damage to peripheral devices is almost impossible.
After all the components have completely dried out, there should be nothing to prevent your system from operating normally again.

Heavy contamination inside the PC case, for example accumulated dust, can cause the coolant to become conductive.
For this reason, we recommend regular cleaning of the computer.

However, if you believe that other components have suffered damage, please contact our Service (service@bequiet.com) staff, who will discuss further actions with you.

The pump casing of the Silent Loop series is designed in a way that it cannot obstruct the memory modules.

Please consult your Silent Loop manual for illustrated installation recommendations.

Yes, that is completely normal. Fully varnishing the radiator would decrease its heat dissipation performance.

Traditionally, the tubes run at the top, but this is usually a purely aesthetic choice – the positioning has no influence on the performance of the cooler. However, with a positioning located at the top, it must be ensured that the water level is always at 100%, as otherwise a loss of performance occurs over time.

We no longer specify TDP values for our water cooling systems, as they can be somewhat inaccurate – more information can be found in this video. For this reason, we have created charts where you can see which cooling performance brings the optimal performance for which CPU.

Either by connecting it to the SATA adaptor included in the package, or to a 12V fan connector on the motherboard (4-pin).

Since the pump must be operated constantly at 12V, it generates a high speed of 5500 RPM due to a very small impeller - this can lead to the pump being perceived more audibly.

"PWM" is a term from electrical engineering, and stands for "pulse width modulation". This allows you to control the speed of a fan almost freely, which is not possible with non-PWM fans. A detailed description of the differences can be found here.

Following air coolers can easily be upgraded with Light Wings:

• Shadow Rock 3
• Shadow Rock LP
• Pure Rock 2

On the Shadow Rock LP and Pure Rock 2 we strongly recommend the high-speed version.
If your system provides a second CPU fan connector you can use Light Wings 120mm as an additional fan on the backside of the heatsink.

These coolers provide additional fan brackets in scope of delivery:

We do not recommend to exchange the fans on any Dark Rock cooler as they use custom sized Silent Wings that are designed for a maximum of silence and performance the Light Wings cannot achieve.
Please note that the operation noise can differ with Light Wings installed as they have other performance curves.

To reach the same noise-performance level as with the standard fans, the CPU fan curve need to be configured.
